Is Pinterest Blocked in Russia?

Short answer: No. As of February 2026, Pinterest is not blocked in Russia. Roskomnadzor — Russia’s federal agency responsible for overseeing media and Internet content — has not added the platform to the official register of banned websites. The regulator has the authority to restrict access to online services that violate Russian law. Since Pinterest is not on that list, there is no nationwide ban.

If Pinterest isn’t opening right now, the cause is likely local:

  • issues with your Internet provider;

  • temporary technical problems on the platform itself.

Users can mistake these situations for regional restrictions, even though there are none. However, the risk of a future ban remains. Below, we explain why.

Why Pinterest Might Be Blocked in Russia

Since 2024, Pinterest has faced growing pressure from Roskomnadzor. Over the past two years, Russian courts have fined the platform tens of millions of rubles for failing to comply with local regulations.

Authorities report that Pinterest:

  • fails to monitor or remove content considered harmful to society;

  • stores Russian users’ personal data on servers located outside the country;

  • has not paid certain fines.

Given this background, a full ban of Pinterest in Russia remains a real possibility. For example, Discord was restricted after multiple court rulings over legal violations. Regulators could take similar action against Pinterest in the future.

How to Bypass a Pinterest Block

If Pinterest is fully banned in Russia or another country, users can bypass regional restrictions using tools that change their public IP address, as well as anti-detect browsers.

Free Proxies

Free proxies may seem like an easy fix, but we do not recommend using them. They can expose your real IP address and put your personal data at risk. In addition, IP addresses used by free proxies are often blacklisted by websites. If you log into your account from a “suspicious” IP, you may face a ban even if you did not break any rules. This is especially important if you manage several Pinterest accounts for work.

In another article, we covered other risks of free proxies.

Paid Proxies

Paid proxies from trusted providers are faster, more stable, and less likely to be blocked. One option is residential proxies, which use IP addresses assigned to real Internet users rather than data centers. Providers usually obtain these IP addresses with the owners’ consent. Because they look more natural, websites are less likely to blacklist them. We also offer a seven-step guide to help you evaluate a proxy’s reliability.

Anti-Detect Browsers

In some cases, proxies alone may not be enough — especially if restrictions are strict or multi-layered. For example, if Pinterest is banned in Russia, the platform itself may react strongly to sudden IP changes and suspend accounts for suspicious activity. This is especially relevant if you run several work and personal accounts and want to avoid risk.

A quick note on multi-accounting and ban risks

When you visit websites and online services, they collect a unique combination of parameters: location, operating system, time zone, and more. This “data snapshot” is called a digital fingerprint. It allows platforms to identify users.

If Pinterest blocks one account, others may also be at risk, even if they use different IP addresses. This happens because the accounts share the same digital fingerprint.

A safer way to bypass restrictions and protect your Pinterest accounts is to use an anti-detect browser such as Octo Browser. It allows you to create separate profiles, each with its own digital fingerprint, and connect them to trusted residential proxies from the built-in Proxy Shop. In the “profile + proxy” setup, you create a consistent digital identity with its own fingerprint and IP address. This approach helps deal with complex regional restrictions and manage multiple accounts more safely, reducing the risk of a block.
