Octo Browser 2.0: Experience the Next Level of Interface Customization, 2FA, and Adding Profiles in Bulk
Update 2.0 marks the beginning of major changes and brings multi-accounting with Octo Browser to the next level. In this release, we've added new customization options for the Profile List and updated the profile creating and editing interface for even more convenience. Now you can create and import profiles in bulk, as well as enable two-factor authentication. Learn more about these and other improvements shipped with this release!

Creating and Importing Profiles in Bulk

Now you can create up to 100 profiles at once. These can be quick profiles or profiles imported from cookie files.
Creating and Importing Profiles in Bulk
This new feature allows you to quickly create and configure a large number of profiles. Data for these profiles can be taken from a template, imported, generated randomly, or edited manually.

Once the profiles are prepared and their setup is complete, simply click the "Create Profiles" button, and the corresponding profiles will be added to the list.

In the future, we plan to support more file types for profile import. We welcome your suggestions for improving this feature. Please send them using the feedback form in the browser or on the website. We thoroughly review every submission and highly value your ideas for improving Octo.

Two-Factor Authentication

Octo Browser users can now take advantage of an additional layer of protection against unauthorized access. Enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) significantly reduces the risk of data theft. Even if attackers learn your password, they still won't be able to access your account without the second authentication component.

To enable two-factor authentication for your account, go to your account settings, select the "Enable 2FA" option, and follow the instructions.
Two-Factor Authentication
After activating two-factor authentication, you will receive backup codes that will help you regain access to your account if you lose access to the authenticator app.

We recommend always using two-factor authentication. Combining strong passwords with 2FA is a simple and effective way to protect your data and ensure account security.

New Profile List Features

In the Update 2.0, we have introduced flexible data display in the Profile List. We understand that each user wants to see different information about their profiles. Now, you can customize the list according to your needs and preferences.

The profile launch and settings buttons have moved to the left, and can now be found in the profile name column. Meanwhile, the right side of the list has become fully customizable. You can select additional columns with information about profiles, rearrange them, or even hide them if they are not important to you.

Available additional columns are:
  • Description: the profile description that allows quick editing.
  • Runtime: the total runtime of the profile (when launched).
  • Size: the total size of the profile (this helps distinguish empty profiles from actively used ones).
  • Launches: the number of profile launches.
  • Created: the profile creation date.
  • Cookies: the number of cookies stored in the profile.
  • Profile ID: a unique profile identifier, which can be copied.

Would you like to resize a column? It’s easy! Adjust column sizes by simply dragging their borders in the list header.

Enhanced Filtering

In response to our users’ requests, we have improved profile filtering options and added the following filters to searching by name:
  • Proxy;
  • Status;
  • Password;
  • Tags.

These new parameters provide more precise search settings, making finding the profiles you need easier and faster.

Redesign of Profile Creation and Editing Pages

We have redesigned the profile creation and editing interface. Now you don't need to navigate to a separate page; all actions occur within the profile list, with windows appearing over it. The settings structure has become more compact, intuitive, and convenient. All previously available options are still accessible, but now you won’t have to switch between multiple screens when editing different fingerprint parameters. All parameters are now divided into tabs: General, Fingerprint, Cookies, Security, and Extensions.

When creating a profile, the panel on the right now displays more overall information about the fingerprint. Additionally, the template selection settings have moved to the right.
Redesign of Profile Creation and Editing Pages
Profile editing options now open on the right side of the list, while the left side always shows the line you are currently editing. All the most frequently edited profile settings (name, description, proxy, and tags) are available on the first tab, General. Clicking on the profile name now gives access to all quick settings, not just the name and description.

macOS Architectures in Quick Profiles and the Profile List

The choice of available macOS architectures for creating quick profiles has been expanded. Users can now choose between macOS Intel and macOS ARM architectures. Additionally, icons corresponding to the selected architecture are displayed on the list in front of the profile names.

Other Improvements and Fixes

  • We have disabled the automatic account logout that happened every 30 days. However, if you would like to keep this security measure in place, you can still enable this option in the account settings.
  • We have redesigned error codes for working with the API. Now you will see a clearly understandable error message if an error occurs.
  • Notifications are now displayed in the lower-left corner and no longer cover the search field.
  • "Do not show this warning again" checkbox has been added to the modal warning window that appears when overwriting settings while selecting a template during profile creation.
  • When assigning a tag with an already existing name and pressing Enter, the error "A tag with this name already exists" is longer displayed; instead, the existing tag is assigned.
