Introduction

An anti-detect browser is a tool you get used to quickly, but over time it may lose relevance or fail to meet your tasks or workflow needs. Transferring profiles to a new anti-detect browser always comes with risks, as it’s impossible to fully replicate fingerprint settings. We analyze various solutions and compare them with Octo Browser’s features so you can choose a reliable and advanced multi-accounting tool. We’ve already reviewed Dolphin{anty}, GoLogin, Multilogin, and AdsPower. Today, we’ll cover Incogniton — a popular choice among beginner users.

Overview of Incogniton

Incogniton has been on the market for more than four years, positioning itself as a tool for efficient browser profile management. Its key features, as highlighted by its developers, are no different from other anti-detect browsers: teamwork, profile creation and management, tags, and an integrated proxy marketplace. It also features API automation and a built-in synchronizer available only for Windows.

Interface

Incogniton Interface
To start using Incogniton, you need to register, fill out a lengthy form, verify your email, and download the browser. Incogniton is only available for Mac and Windows, whereas Octo also supports Linux. After launching and logging in, you’ll see a common anti-detect browser interface: a profile list and a menu offering key features. However, the longer you explore the menu, the more apparent the scattered and chaotic arrangement of items becomes: for instance, browser settings only include bookmarks and extensions settings, while fingerprint management and API integration are unexpectedly placed in account settings.
Compared to modern anti-detect browsers, Incogniton’s interface feels outdated and unpolished. Its UI design lacks organization and features inconsistent fonts, spacing, and functional elements. The same applies to UX: for example, you’ll have to endure frequent confirmation prompts when leaving settings screens, even if no changes have been made.
Excessive confirmation prompts when exiting settings
The profile list is somewhat inconveniently designed: while you can add columns with additional profile information, there’s no horizontal scrolling, so new columns remain hidden on smaller screens.

Profiles can be sorted by columns, but the list header doesn’t indicate which sorting column is active, which means you’ll likely discover this feature either by accident or by reading this article.

To organize profiles, Incogniton offers groups and tags. Adding a profile to a group is easy and involves using the actions button (three dots next to a profile). Assigning tags, however, is not straightforward at all.

Tag management is hidden under the "Actions" button, where you’ll find two identically looking modal windows: one for editing tags and another for assigning them to profiles. Moreover, tags cannot be assigned during profile creation, nor can they be edited within profile settings: everything must be done through bulk assignment or the "Actions" menu.
In general, there are many confusing moments like this: sometimes, it’s unclear whether you’re looking at a button or just an icon. Standard buttons visually blend with selection options and input fields. Critical functional buttons might appear secondary, while unimportant ones may seem prominent. Although the interface seems simple, its illogical design requires time to adapt.
Octo Browser Interface
In contrast, Octo’s interface is more functional and intuitive. The start screen dedicates most of the usable space to the Profile List, with important sections like the Proxy Manager, Templates, and Trash located in separate tabs. The Profile List is highly customizable: you can add columns with necessary profile parameters and scroll horizontally if needed; the column with the profile start button and profile actions will always remain fixed on the screen.

Profiles can be sorted by name, start date, creation date, or task status, with the active sorting clearly visible in the list header. Each profile also displays a description field where you can add notes. Most importantly, the proxies connected to the profile are clearly visible.
Proxies can be connected to a profile either during its creation or directly from the Profile List
Octo Browser doesn’t have dedicated groups or folders: instead, tags serve this purpose well. You can assign one or multiple tags to each profile, pin a primary tag, use them to restrict profile access rights for different team members, and easily create and assign tags directly from the Profile List without having to navigate to a separate window.

The interfaces of Octo Browser and Incogniton differ significantly in both convenience and functionality. We’ve summarized the key features distinguishing these browsers below:

Creating and Configuring Profiles

In Incogniton, a new profile can be created in two ways: by using the side menu or directly in the profile list. Both options open the same profile setup window, where you have to specify basic parameters before the profile appears on the list. In addition to standard OS, name, and fingerprint settings, you can choose the browser kernel version.

Available Chrome kernel versions range from version 80 to 131. When a new kernel version is released, it must be updated manually in Incogniton, which is inconvenient and may trigger anti-fraud systems, as the Chrome browser kernel is usually updated automatically and in the background. Notifications about updates appear in the Incogniton Telegram channel, but not in the browser itself.

In the Advanced settings, you can configure the User-Agent, choose the platform, edit extensions, fonts, and other hardware parameters.

Separately, the menu offers the "Other" section, where additional settings can be configured, such as blocking the simultaneous launch of a profile on different devices, setting the default language, and among other options, a checkbox "Attempt to pass Iphey."
In Octo Browser, a new profile can be created in three ways:

A Quick Profile is created in one click with the desired operating system and default parameters, immediately ready to use. After creation, it will appear on the Profile List and can be further edited later on if needed.

A New Profile offers more parameter configuration options during profile creation: a separate window will open where you can assign a name, description, tag, set a proxy, bookmarks, start pages, and configure storage settings.

In this same profile configuration window you can access additional tabs where you can edit the fingerprint, import cookies, set a password for the profile, and connect extensions.
The browser kernel version cannot be selected in Octo since the browser kernel in Octo profiles is always up-to-date. Currently, it is version 132, which is displayed in the fingerprint settings in the User-Agent line.
Templates offer another auxiliary feature for creating profiles. With this function, you can pre-configure a specific set of profile parameters and use it for creating new or quick profiles.

Bulk Profile Creation

In Incogniton, bulk profile creation is done with a separate button but implemented as profile import. You can bulk-import profiles in CSV or Excel formats.
In Octo, you can quickly bulk-create multiple profiles directly in the browser by specifying the desired number of profiles or by importing them from a file after pre-filling a template with your data.
For each method, you can edit basic fingerprint settings.

Available Profile and Bulk Actions

As in other anti-detect browsers, Incogniton offers a basic set of actions with one or multiple profiles. Profiles can be edited, grouped, paired with proxies, and you can manage cookies. Among bulk actions, besides the commonly available ones, profiles can be forcibly started and stopped and launched in synchronized dependency mode.

In Octo Browser, same or similar actions are available, but there are also unique features:

  • Profile Tasks: A unique feature for bulk and team profile management. You can set a task for a profile and put it on a timer. Once the timer ends, a trigger for a notification in the browser will activate.

  • Profile Export: In addition to the separate profile transfer function, Octo also allows you to export profiles in .octo format.
  • Videostream Spoofing: A useful feature for verification and passing KYC.
  • Profile History and Recovery: Allows detailed tracking of who and when interacted with a profile.
  • Profile Password: A feature that provides additional security for a profile. Useful for large teams where some profiles need protection from being accidentally launched.
Octo offers no function to add profiles to groups, but there are universal tags that can be used for grouping, sorting, and even granting team members access rights. Profiles can be forcibly stopped, but cannot be launched in this way. There is also no function for creating arguments to automate working with profiles. However, required automated profile actions can be configured via API.

Among bulk actions that Octo offers, almost the same options are available, except for managing browser kernel versions and changing the User-Agent. Overall, the functionality and profile actions are similar, aside from Octo Browser’s unique features.

Proxy Integration

Incogniton offers a proxy manager where you can save proxies one by one or add them in bulk. Proxies are connected to profiles during creation, editing, or through the action button. The browser also features a proxy marketplace where you can purchase mobile, datacenter, static residential, ISP, and Premium ISP proxies with payment based on traffic volume and discounts available for larger purchases. Connected proxies can be grouped, tagged, tested for connection viability, or exported.

Octo Browser also offers a Proxy Manager that allows you to save proxies either individually or in bulk. Likewise, The Octo Proxy Shop offers residential proxies with payment based on traffic volume and discounts available for larger purchases.

The key difference lies in the way of connecting proxies to profiles. In Octo, this can be done directly from the Profile List without having to open a separate settings window. You can select a previously saved proxy, add a new one, or purchase it directly from a provider. Additionally, there are buttons for copying data and checking the connection.

Both saved and new proxies can be connected during profile creation or editing. Profile templates allow for multiple proxies, which will be randomly assigned to new profiles.

Teamwork

In Incogniton, team members can be added starting only with the Professional plan, which includes 3 invites. Additional team members will require a custom subscription. The team management menu allows inviting participants via email and assigning them roles that grant access to various features. Roles can be customized, and you can configure access to profile management, teams, groups, and proxy management within each role. However, team members cannot purchase proxies in the browser.

In Octo Browser, team members can be added with the Team (up to 3 people), Advanced (up to 8 people), and Custom (on request) subscriptions. Access rights differentiation in Octo is based on functions and sections. In the corresponding Settings, you can specify which resources a team member will have access to and what actions they can perform.

Octo Browser also includes a unique and highly useful teamwork feature: Action Log, which allows the account owner to track all team activities, ensuring complete transparency and control. Action Log conveniently records changes made to profiles and other browser entities, including those made via API. This makes it easy to analyze event history and identify who made specific changes.

Profile Data Security

Incogniton does not provide profile-protecting features (e.g., profile passwords), which are critical for anti-detect browser users. Unfortunately, there was an incident in which Incogniton users lost their crypto wallets funds, and Incogniton's response was recommending a more careful approach to data storage and enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) in the browser.

For Octo Browser, user data security is an unconditional top priority. Octo’s multi-layered data storage system ensures complete protection against unauthorized access. Data is stored on European cloud servers and encrypted according to AES-256 standards. Profiles are further protected by a secret key, a unique database key, and a user password. The combination of these three components makes unauthorized data access and decryption impossible for attackers.

To enhance account protection, Octo Browser offers two-factor authentication (2FA), further minimizing risks of unauthorized access.

Technical Support and Assistance

In Incogniton, the "Help and Support" tab provides links to documentation, a contact email address, and a FAQ section. The top menu includes a link to a Telegram channel, where a support bot is available for quick contact. The knowledge base addresses most common questions and errors related to the anti-detect browser work. However, if you need direct or immediate support, you must send an email and wait for a response.

In Octo Browser, support is available online both on the official website and within the browser. Octo allows you to quickly submit an error report, leave feedback, or contact support directly. Octo offers Telegram communities in Russian and English for communication with peers and colleagues where the Support Team and an online bot are always available. In addition to its responsive support, Octo comes with a knowledge base describing all processes in detail, from installing the anti-detect browser to documentation covering API automation.

Use the promo code OCTOEXPERIENCE to get a 4-day Starter subscription for free. This offer is valid only for new users.

Subscriptions and Pricing

Incogniton attracts users with free profiles, but the "free" starter package only includes 10 profiles for 2 months, after which the number of profiles is reduced to 3. The most affordable plan, Starter Plus, comes with 10 profiles and costs $19.99. The most expensive plan, Custom, allows requesting any number of profiles and team members. Subscriptions can be paid monthly or for 6 months with a 30% discount.

Octo Browser offers more discounts for long-term subscriptions. For example, purchasing the Starter plan for 12 months brings its cost to the same range as an equivalent Incogniton subscription. However, you also get 10 profiles with robust data protection, extended functionality, stable and reliable performance, and the latest browser kernel version. Furthermore, Incogniton's popular Professional subscription costs half as much as Octo Browser's Team plan but offers only 150 profiles compared to 350 in Octo.

Conclusion

After thoroughly comparing Incogniton and Octo, we have concluded that Octo Browser is a more reliable, stable, secure, and convenient tool for working with profiles. Here's why:

  • Security and Data Protection: Octo Browser offers stricter security measures for protecting profile data, including password protection and profile activity history tracking. Incogniton, while GDPR-compliant, does not provide such detailed data protection.
  • Interface and Functionality: Octo Browser comes with a distinctly more modern and intuitive interface, significantly simplifying profile management.
  • Updates and Support: Octo Browser automatically updates its browser kernel to the latest Chromium version as quickly as possible.
  • Teamwork and Access Rights Allocation: Octo offers more flexible access rights controls for teams, including grouping, sorting, and access rights management through tags. This greatly simplifies managing large teams and projects.
In conclusion, Octo Browser remains the optimal choice for professionals working with multiple profiles.
